The Department of Defense released its anticipated final version 1.0 of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) on 31 January 2020. Certification requirements will be included in RFPs beginning September 2020. DoD is funding this April 21 workshop—one of only 23 being offered throughout the US through a grant to NIST’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) network. Cybersecurity experts will lead workshop participants through the steps needed to comply with DFARS 7012 requirements, implement the 110 NIST SP 800-171 security controls, prepare for their CMMC audit, and manage cyber-related business risks.
The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) has already launched its DFARS 7012 compliance audits for supply chain contractors. Manufacturer’s Edge (Colorado’s MEP Center), NIST, DoD, and other groups are partnering to assist manufacturing companies in the DoD and aerospace supply chain.
Note: Per DoD grant terms funding this workshop, this invitation is intended primarily for manufacturers currently in, or contemplating engagement in, the defense and aerospace supply chains.
