The Manufacturer’s Edge team loves all of the unique and innovative products from Nite Ize (their Gear Tie© reusable twist ties are life-changing and come in a variety of sizes to fit everything from computer cords to bikes!!), but we all have a particular soft spot for anything dog-related. These collar lights let you select your favorite colors and light up patterns, clip conveniently to your dog’s collar, and they’re even rechargeable. So, they’re fun, functional, and will keep your 4-legged furry friends safe in the dark. And how can you resist that adorable face??
One of my favorite things about working with manufacturers is watching people take their passions and interests and make them into actual products that make people’s lives better, easier, safer, more interesting… or, in this case, a little more beautiful! This necklace from Balaam by Monica Zamora is at the top of my holiday wish list and, for what it’s worth, I have been VERY good this year, Santa! The majority of Monica Zamora’s pieces are made of sterling silver and are reminiscent of the region in Mexico where they are lovingly handcrafted by a team of artisans. Each one is a truly unique, beautiful work of art. With a slew of different pieces and styles varying from incredibly affordable to splurge-worthy, you are sure to find a statement piece to suit your style and budget.
If you ever have a chance to meet Kate, the genius behind the Katari brand, then by all means do. Kate is one of the most energetic, thoughtful, passionate, intelligent people I have ever met and her enthusiasm is contagious. She’s like a shot of espresso made from exotic fair trade beans from deep inside the Amazon rainforest and served in a handcrafted ancient vessel discovered at the bottom of the Dead Sea. Seriously. Every product that she makes has a story behind it and each one basically requires her to become Indiana Jones as she scours the globe for the perfect ingredients and the highest quality, sustainable bottling and packaging solutions. This green clay masque, for example, is taken from the ancient seabeds of the Mediterranean. And that’s not an overstatement. Kate actually collects it herself. Check out her website — there are pictures! Plus, the masque is like a miracle cure that helps not only with wrinkles, acne, and cellulite — it even helps with hair loss!
So, go buy a bottle for yourself and one for each of your friends. And, while you’re on the website, check out Kate’s advice on doing business internationally where you’ll find gems like “Marketing materials written in ‘google translate’ are only good for, well…. nothing. Use a translation company who can do it and can do it well”.
Loki Gear is known as the “All-in-One Outdoor Clothing Company” and that is exactly what they are. Nearly every article of clothing they design and sell is intended to help you adapt to the changing weather. This particular hoodie comes with a gaiter that you can pull out to protect your face, convertible gloves to keep your hands warm, and it even collapses into itself to form a handy backpack in case you suddenly find yourself not needing a jacket at all. They have really thought of everything and it is stylish, comes in a ton of different colors and sizes, and it’s super comfortable to boot. I bought one for my husband two years ago for Christmas and now we fight over it. So, maybe buy two… trust me. You’ll be glad you did!
Part musical instrument, part artistic masterpiece, part Tolkien-esque fantasy explored through masterful woodworking craftsmanship — Blindworm guitars and basses have to be seen to be believed. Although mere words fail to do them justice, here is how Blindworm describes the “The Cragg”:
“A new magnificent creature that lies between a dragon and a sea serpent, poised to create its own legends. (…) Each block of wood was personally hand (and ear) selected for tone, resonance, beauty, strength, and appropriate weight. “The Cragg’s” figured Poplar body combines with a firm but light seven-piece Roasted Maple and Roasted Birch neck. Its screaming head is complete with antler horns, book matched Osage Orange knothole eyes, and a Jade tongue. The combination of 100-year-old Bird’s Eye Maple fretboard, Jade nut and tailpiece, and the Seymour-Duncan Seth Lover pickups, create a legendary sound you must hear to believe.”
Check out their video below to see these magnificent creations in action and then go visit their shop in Colorado Springs to find an unforgettable one-of-a-kind gift for the musicians on your list!
If you haven’t heard of Tailwind Nutrition, first of all, where have you been?? Secondly, it’s high time and we are happy to make the introduction. Tailwind is a fun and unique company located in the small community of Bayfield, Colorado (pop. 2,687) 20 miles outside of Durango. Co-Founder Jeff Vierling started the company in 2012 in an effort to develop nutritional solutions for endurance athletes, specifically ones who had experienced trouble properly digesting other products on the market. Jeff has, in fact, become a bit of an internet celebrity as his “Aha! Moment” was actually caught on video at the end of his first Leadville 100 (don’t watch if you are squeamish!). Rather than waiting for the perfect product to materialize, Jeff and his wife Jenny, went about creating it themselves — right in their own kitchen. Since then, Tailwind has become a staple for athletes around the world and has spawned a tight-knit community that shares tips and tricks as well as major achievements and milestones. If you are a runner, cyclist, soccer player, swimmer, skier, or know someone who is looking for a great way to boost their endurance and recovery while also taking advantage of vegan and gluten-free options, the Tailwind Starter Kit just might be the perfect introduction to the Tailwind brand and it makes for an awesome stocking stuffer!
